Devlog #2: "To climb steep hills requires a slow pace at first." (Demo?!)
Merely Players » Devlog
Had a really fantastic conversation about this game with 200-Proof Games over on Discord, and in knocking our heads together about the mechanics we realized there's really two components of the game, here:
- A large part of the game is gameifying and punching up the experience of table-reading a play, having fun with possibilities and thinking of various elements of staging a show in a managed space.
- A more complex part, which is actually roleplaying actors in a company, with their internal dynamics.
As such, I've wondered whether that first part might not make for a viable demo, focused only on the gameplay involved in the table read, without worrying about character sheets and such quite yet.
Does that make sense? I think that's maybe a good first release, with the rest coming later: a one-shot version of the game created for the purpose of garnering feedback!
What say ye?
